With Islam being one of the fastest-growing religions worldwide, our mission is to extend its light to Nevis, fostering understanding, unity, and spiritual growth during the holy month of Ramadan.

• A Small Muslim Community: While Islam has touched the Caribbean, the presence of Muslims on Nevis remains minimal. Many locals have little to no exposure to the teachings of Islam or the beauty of its traditions.
• Rich Historical Roots: Nevis has a vibrant cultural history, influenced by various civilizations. Yet, Islam has had limited interaction with its people, making it fertile ground for da’wah and the spread of faith.
• The Month of Spiritual Transformation: Ramadan offers a unique opportunity to engage hearts, build connections, and inspire change through the beauty of Taraweeh prayers and Islamic teachings.

1. Population: Nevis has a population of approximately 12,000, with a majority following Christianity.
2. Tourism Hub: Known as “The Queen of the Caribbean,” Nevis is renowned for its pristine beaches, Mount Nevis, and historical landmarks.
3. Education and Community Spirit: The island places great emphasis on education and community values, making it an ideal place for introducing Islamic principles of compassion, charity, and unity.

Our Mission for Ramadan 2025

This Ramadan, we aim to send a team of dedicated Hafiz-ul-Quran to Nevis with two primary objectives:

1. Lead Taraweeh Prayers: Our Hafiz will organize and lead nightly Taraweeh prayers, bringing the unique experience of the Quran’s recitation to the Muslim community and beyond.
2. Teach Islamic Principles: Alongside leading prayers, the team will conduct classes and interactive sessions on Islamic teachings, providing education and fostering spiritual growth for both Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Ramadan 2025: Illuminating Nevis

This Ramadan, we are taking action to uplift the Muslim community in Nevis and share the beauty of Islam.

1. Sending Hafiz to Lead Taraweeh and Teach Islam

We will send a group of dedicated Hafiz-ul-Quran to:

• Lead Taraweeh Prayers: Strengthen the spiritual connection of the community through nightly recitation of the Quran.
• Teach Islamic Principles: Conduct classes, interactive sessions, and discussions for Muslims and non-Muslims alike, providing a deeper understanding of the faith.

2. Fundraising for a Permanent Imam’s Home

Currently, Nevis lacks a resident Imam to guide the community year-round. We aim to change this by building a permanent home for an Imam adjacent to the Masjid. A resident Imam will provide consistent guidance, ensuring the Muslim community can grow in their knowledge and practice of Islam. The Imam will play a pivotal role in strengthening bonds within the Muslim community and fostering understanding with the wider Nevisian society. With a full-time Imam, the Masjid can host regular classes, Jumuah prayers, youth programs, and interfaith events. The Imam will help ensure that future generations of Muslims in Nevis remain connected to their faith and traditions. Finally, the presence of an Imam’s home next to the Masjid will create a welcoming and accessible centre for both Muslims and non-Muslims seeking knowledge and guidance.
