Sacred Dreams - Umrah for Gaza’s Young Hearts
“The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate (Sahih Bukhari).
The children of Gaza have endured unimaginable hardship. They’ve lived through war, displacement, and trauma that no child should ever face. Amid the rubble of conflict, their dreams are often overshadowed by a daily struggle for survival. But together, we can offer them a glimmer of hope—a journey of healing and faith.
Sacred Dreams: Umrah for Gaza’s Young Hearts is an initiative by the As-Salaam Foundation to take Gazan orphans, currently residing in Jordan, on a life-changing pilgrimage to Makkah. These children, who have lost so much, will have the opportunity to stand before the Kaaba, seek Allah’s mercy, and find solace in the sacred rites of Umrah.
Why This Journey Matters
For these young hearts, Umrah is not just a physical journey; it’s a spiritual reprieve from the weight of their trauma. It’s a chance to step away from the pain of their past and experience the beauty of faith and unity with the global Muslim community.
- Healing Through Faith: Standing in the sacred precincts of the Haram, these children will find moments of peace, where they can pour their prayers and struggles to Allah, seeking His mercy and guidance.
- Inspiring Resilience: The experience will remind them that they are not alone, that their ummah stands with them, and that their future holds promise beyond the pain they’ve endured.
- Spiritual Growth: The journey will help nurture their hearts, connecting them deeply to Allah and strengthening their resolve to overcome life’s challenges.
The Rewards of Caring for Orphans
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “I and the caretaker of the orphan will be in Paradise like this,” holding his two fingers close together. This powerful reminder underlines the immense reward for those who support orphans and bring joy to their lives. By contributing to this project, you’re investing in the hereafter and giving these children the gift of hope.
How You Can Help
We aim to sponsor 10 orphans on this sacred journey, covering their travel, accommodation, meals, and other essential costs. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to making this dream a reality.
- £50 can provide meals during their journey.
- £100 can cover transportation costs.
- £250 can sponsor half the journey.
- £500 can fully sponsor one orphan’s Umrah.
Join us in giving these children a moment of peace, a sanctuary of hope, and a chance to feel the warmth of the ummah’s care.
As-Salaam will embark on this blessed journey on the 7th of January 2025.
Together, We Can Make Sacred Dreams a Reality
Let’s remind these children that despite the trials they’ve faced, their faith and dreams matter. Together, we can plant seeds of hope in their hearts, ensuring that even in the darkest times, the light of Islam guides them forward.
